Give to the Inspire Fund

Introducing the Inspire Fund, a charitable giving effort to grow key institute initiatives.

Establishing the fund is a major milestone, giving friends of I³R an opportunity to join us in solving 'wicked' problems and advancing the institute's mission with their charitable contributions.

To enable strategic giving and ensure focused impact, the institute will annually select key initiatives to be funded. In alignment with the university's focus on student success and the institute's emphasis on education and empowerment, the first priority initiative to be funded is undergraduate research.

Interested in providing more undergraduate research opportunities at the U of A? Make a tax-deductible contribution to I3R's Inspire Fund.

    How I³R was established

I³R was established by a $194.7 million grant from the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation.

This landmark grant created an endowment for hiring faculty teams, for supporting for state-of-the-art facilities that will include additive manufacturing, maker space, microscopy and imaging, cleanroom, pre-clinical labs, and human subjects study labs — including brain imaging with many modalities including MRI, and metabolic, sensorimotor and posture and locomotion assessments.

Additional funds are already supporting entrepreneurship education to encourage and support moving discoveries to the marketplace, as well as the establishment of the Collaborative in Bentonville.
